Pulling Expense Reduction
CHALLENGE: A mature producing operation was experiencing excessive rod and tubing failures, chemical-treatment problems, inconsistent equipment practices, and high pulling expense.
APPROACH: Reviewed failure patterns, rod and tubular practices, chemical programs, inventory controls, and operating procedures, then redesigned the related operating processes.
RESULT: Pulling expense declined approximately 60% within six months.

Recurring Annual Electricity Savings
CHALLENGE: West Texas operating assets were carrying very large electricity costs following deregulation, while existing rate structures and procurement practices were delivering little benefit.
APPROACH: Consolidated electrical accounts for rate purposes, competitively evaluated supply arrangements, then developed an ERCOT demand-response strategy for high-consumption ESP operations.
RESULT: Approximately $1.25 million in annual procurement savings plus $1M in demand-response, $2.25M combined.
$2.25M

Offshore Production Uplift
CHALLENGE: Offshore wells were competing for constrained compression capacity, limiting production.
APPROACH: Evaluated well performance and compressor allocation to determine where available capacity would create the greatest production response.
RESULT: Approximately 7% production uplift without additional operating expense.

RESERVE VALUE AND Borrowing Capacity
CHALLENGE: A small independent producer needed additional capital to pursue bolt-on acquisitions, but lending value depended on recognized reserve categories.
APPROACH: Expanded and reviewed a reserve inventory and identified approximately $12M of bank-eligible PUD and PDNP value.
RESULT: Additional recognized reserve value supported roughly $7 million of incremental borrowing capacity for acquisitions.

Ownership Recovery FROM LEGACY RECORDS
CHALLENGE: A booked PDNP opportunity appeared technically valid, but historical ownership documentation did not support the company’s expected rights.
APPROACH: Reviewed legacy records and traced the ownership history, identifying a missing transfer associated with the opportunity.
RESULT: Historical ownership discrepancy was documented and resolved with the seller.

Strategic Basin Screening & Acquisition Diligence
CHALLENGE: Encana was heavily weighted toward natural gas and needed to identify scalable oil opportunities capable of changing the company’s portfolio.
APPROACH: Participated in a cross-border team evaluating oil-growth opportunities. Led technical validation for the 2014 Freeport-McMoRan Eagle Ford acquisition.
RESULT: Technical and economic analysis supported senior strategic decision-making during the transition toward greater oil exposure.
